A small practice, by design.
Modderday is a senior engineering practice in Los Angeles. We are deliberately small — usually two to four people — and we take on a limited number of engagements at a time so that the people doing the work are the people who scoped it.

We build, fix, and look after software for organizations past the prototype stage — the platforms, internal tools, and infrastructure a business depends on day to day. We work across software development, systems and IT, technical review, and automation, but the through-line is the same: durable systems that the people who own them can understand.
We are not an agency that staffs a bench and bills it out. When a project needs a capability we do not have, we say so, and we help you find it. The work we keep is the work we can do well.
We would rather build less software, more carefully, than more software, less so.
- i.
Write it down first
A short, plain-English scope before any work begins. The scope is the agreement.
- ii.
Leave it readable
Documentation and a clean handoff, so a competent successor can pick up the work without us.
- iii.
No lock-in
You own what we build once it is paid for. We are a team you choose to keep, not one you are stuck with.
Engagements run from short, focused reviews to multi-month builds. We work alongside the people on your side who will own the result, so the knowledge stays with your business.
